A Stroll in the Woods (Serac)

Aremet walked slowly, looking up at the trees which shaded her from the bright sun. She closed he eyes, keeping her head tilted up, feeling the patched of uncovered sunlight occasionally dancing on her eyelids. She opened her eyes, just in time to see a tree branch in front of her face and she reacted fast, ducking. The shifter looked back to see the limp branch swing gently from the breeze she caused. She fell to the ground in a swift motion, sitting Indian Style with her elbow propping her head up. She saw a small house in the distance and narrowed her eyes. "Hmm?" she murmured, tilting her head while she stood up. She continued her slow pace, but in the direction of the little house. It so small it would only hold up to two people, at most, but she had nothing to do today, so she walked up to it, staring at the door. To her surprise, she saw her hand lift up and knock on the door softly, but loud enough to send a sound ringing through the tiny house. She waited for a moment, ready to turn away, when she saw a familiar face.

"Serac?" she questioned, seeing him once when she has passed him in the Shifter Territory. She quickly bowed her head, embarrassed she forgot her manners of submission. "Auxiliary Serac," she corrected quickly. She glanced up, letting a small smile show on her face. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you lived here.. I can leave now." She turned away, feeling her face flush in more embarrassment. What in the world was she thinking? Knocking on someone's door in the Shifter territory, expecting it to be someone she didn't know? She took a step in the direction away from the high-ranking male. "Sorry," she murmured, disappointed that nothing interesting would happen in her day. She tilted her head, thinking to herself, Well I guess embarrassing myself like this was 'interesting'.

The day had been as usual, talking to Eden about how things were going in the region, the shifters, the usual work to do. The common, bored, and long day of always. He usually didn't came to his house but stay near the Regina's cave talking about the pack or wandering alone to check in all the territories for any sign of intruders or problems. Today he simple felt to return to his old days of resting a bit near the lake or cook something instead of go hunting. He left his Avalanche parked at the back of the cabin so maybe he could take it and drive out of the region for a few hours. Anything sounded nice at this point, but the scent of another shifter near his house changed his plans.

Walking silently he looked at the guest right in his door, knocking. 'What? Why? Does she know where I live? I have never said anything about my cabin except for the Regina. Is she looking for me for a pack's matter or is she simply lost?' He recognized easily the shifter. She was the Bellator Aremet, the artic wolf. Shifting back into his human form, he walked silently until he positioned himself at her back, waiting for her to turn and notice him.

A small smile crossed his face at her respect. He forgot what it felt like to be a superior after so long and all these 'good manners' in his presence were still a little amusing. Even when he was a Rex in his own pride, he never treated anyone with ranks, except when there was some problem or fight. Looking at her about to leave he frowned, maybe the common and bored day was changing after all. "Wait." A simple command, not wanting to sound to hard or anything, but always correct and formal. He waited for her to turn to then continue. "You don't have to apologize, Aremet, or leave just yet. May I ask why are you here? Can I help you with anything?" His icy blue eyes examined her, looking her movements and reactions. Feeling a cold breeze he remembered he was shirtless. He passed most of the time in his lion form and didn't like to use the same shirt more than 3 days, also the fact that until now he was in his house to get new clothes explained it. He glanced quickly at his old dark jeans and boots, wanting to get inside, have a good shower, and change.

Aremet had paused when he asked her to stop, trying not to let her eagerness to talk to someone--since she hadn't in a while--overcome her. She let her gaze examine Serac, realizing for the first time he didn't have a shirt on. Her eyes widened in embarrassment and she looked to the side of his house once he glanced to the clothes which were behind him. She listened to him ask her and when she turned to him once more, she saw question and curiosity fill his eyes. She suspected he thought weirdly of her now, ending up at his front door and all. She turned her head away once more, pausing before she answered him. The sun shined on her skin, gentle and warm, almost even comforting. She let out a silent sigh, keeping her blue eyes away from his, awkwardness surfacing. She thought about walking away, but she had heard the command, slight authority in it when he had told her to wait. She had never heard his voice, yet it pleased her somehow. It was different; almost in a good way.

She lifted her head, finally answering in a soft voice. "I'm sorry," she repeated, despite him telling her to not apologize. "I was just walking through here and saw this little house.. I don't know why, I just knocked." She had the compulsion to leave once more, but something told her to stay. She tilted her head slightly, letting her eyes catch his. They looked close to hers, both with an icy color to them. Surprisingly, the more she stared at his, the more they seemed to be like hers. She looked away quickly, trying not to make him feel uncomfortable with her staring at him like that. Something about him made her compelled to learn more about him. She didn't answer his last question, not knowing that answer, herself. Did she need something? She felt uneasy when he glanced at his clothes and she looked up, squinting at the sun. "Would you like me to leave now?" she questions, wondering if she saw eagerness in his eyes, as if he wanted to leave.

He looked at her for a moment, not knowing if he was making her feel uncomfortable. He didn't have much interaction with... anyone, so being again so close to someone and make up a conversation was simply rare and a bit hard. With a shirt sigh he turned and opened the door of his cabin. "If you would like to leave, you may do it, Aremet. I am not retaining you here, but you are also welcomed to come in for a moment. I just need to change my clothes." He glanced at her from over his bare shoulder and waited a moment before entering to his house. The wood cracking slightly under his boots as he looked to where his room was, then to the kitchen. He moved to the refrigerator to take out a beer and looked again at the door to see if she accepted his invitation or not. He never invited anyone here, but now he was the Auxiliary and 2nd in command, he needed to attend the pack's need and help them in any way he could, that included being correct and get to know all the members better.

Aremet watched silently as the door was opened and he walked inside. She lowered her head, sliding past it and standing a foot within the threshold. She carefully closed the door, wincing slightly as her shuffling her feet caused one of the boards to creak. She glanced to the kitchen where the Auxiliary took out a beer, making eye contact with her. She frowned, wondering if he didn't want her here and was just letting her come in because she was just 'part of the pack'. She noticed his uneasiness and she sighed, glancing sideways to the door, ready to leave if he wanted her to. She stood awkwardly, glancing around his small, yet cozy, house. "I can leave if you want me to.."

He sighed and prevented a growl to come out, he never liked to repeat himself, it felt like the other was not paying attention or just didn't wanted to understand his words. Turning his head to face her again he replied calmed and respectful. "I already told you what I think. If I did not want you here, I would not have invited you. It's your decision, Aremet." He looked away to take another drink and opened the fridge again, taking another beer and a Root Beer with the other hand. "What can I offer you to drink?" Serac glanced at her again and showed both cans. "I also have juice or water if you want."

She lowered her head slightly, despising the fact that she had angered him. His tone was demanding and confident, while hers was small and frail. She took a few steps towards him, showing that she would like to stay, knowing that was fine with him. She blinked at him, courage shinning once she saw his kind posture. "If it's okay with you, I'll take a beer.." She frowned slightly, wondering if that sounded weird, coming from a girl like her. She lifted her head more, taking a few more looks at the house which was more revealed at the angle she stood at. Her eyes turned back to Serac, trying to read his face. It didn't show much, and disappointment coursed through her. She was usually good at doing so, but he had seemed to be able to hide his thoughts carefully. Aremet knew you could read her like an open book, and she frowned at the thought of him being able to know what she was feeling. She liked to keep her emotions a secret, only letting herself share them. She let her head tilt slightly, awkwardly looking away as she caught sight of his bare chest. She looked around, embarrassed, feeling bad for him as he probably didn't want a bellator like herself being able to see him like that. She didn't think of it as unofficial, just more of him not wanting her there, in general.

He handed her the beer, opening it before, and looked at her a bit annoyed again. Why was she acting like if he was a demon or the Rex? He was just the Auxiliary, a normal shifter like her. Sighing he took another sip of his beer and walked to be in her range of vision again so she focuss on him again. "Hey, stop it. You don't need to be so respectful around me, relax. Stop caring about what I would like, or it it's okay with me. Think about what you want and like. I may be a lion but I will not eat you if you do something I don't like. And if that happens, I will simply say it to you." Serac thought for a moment and looked around, then back at her with his beer on one hand. "Okay, lets do something... What do you like to do? Read, play, cook, what?"

Aremet looked at him softly, his words making her head tilt in thought. She had always wanted to be so respectful, and submissive, she never really thought about how it would be to act as a normal person without ranks. The pressure of ranks was overpowering, but she would manage to slide around them. She smiled, taking a few steps towards Serac to get the drink from him. She took a small sip and nodded to him. She glanced around for a brief second, looking to where he just did momentarily and shrugged. "I don't have one particular thing in mind.. anything you would like to do?" She gave another smile, hoping to make up for the annoyance she caused just moments ago.

He looked at her noticing she was not bothering him on porpuse, smiling slightly again, drinking his beer slowly fore placing it over the counter of the kitchen. "Actually, I would like to take a quick bath and change my clothes. You may see and do what you wish until I return. Call me if you need something." The shifter walked around her and into his room, closing slightly the door and started to change, passing in front of it with only a towel around his waist and into the bathroom, now closing entirely the door and oepening the water to run freely inside the shower.

She nodded, watching him go past her into his room. She glanced away slightly, listening to the water turn on, making the sound of an endless stream. It sounded slightly soothing, and she closed her eyes for a moment, picturing a beautiful scenery. After a few moments, she opened her eyes and sat down in a chair at the table. She lifted the bottle to her mouth, drinking in small increments at a time. She was one of those typical girls who got drunk if she drank to fast. She would probably get drunk, anyways, even while drinking the way she was. She spoke a few words, testing her speech, and they were slightly slurred already, making her frown. She shook her head, trying to clear her mind as she glanced over at the door which now closed. She tilted her head slightly, her intoxicated mind letting her thoughts wonder. She shook her head once more, trying to make the thoughts go away. She didn't want to think that way, and knew she wouldn't if she hadn't consumed the alcohol. The only thing she disliked about beer was that her mind was like a horse without reins. She closed her eyes again, propping her head on her elbows. Slowly, she slipped in and out of consciousness, the water creating a rhythmic trance which made her sleepy.
