Fear of the Dark

The air was soft and crisp, chilling. The park was almost empty except a few children and their parents. Night would soon fall upon the area and Arkati would, as always have to fight her undying lust. Soon she found herself sitting on a bench and taking her black backpack from her back and sighing deeply she pulled a water bottle, with black sides, filled with blood out and twirled it, her eyes trained on a small child playing alone. She took the lid off the bottle and kept staring at the child, pretending it was the child's blood, trying to trick her mind into thinking she was killing and getting fresh blood though it hardly ever worked. Lifting the bottle to her lips she closed her eyes and sipped quietly. The wind blew her hair over her eyes and face, hand and bottle as she drank and she was seemingly in a trance, ignoring it and finishing the blood and setting the bottle back away. The vampire wiped her hair away and then the blood, inhaling and exhaling deeply she tried to calm herself. Her eyes opened and the child was gone and being led into a car by her mother. Arkati stood up and put her bag back on her shoulders and placed all her hair to one side and wiped the corner of her mouth, getting all the blood now. The amount of time Arkati had been alone and fending for herself was getting rather out of hand, coming across more and more clans. She needed to join one for herself.

It had been a long day for Vixin. Surgery, a 16 hour long one at that, had been her main event today. Her eyes were tired and her head hurt with instructions from the day. Code blues and intercom announcements. She needed a break, and it had been a while since she had checked the boarder for any new vampires. So the surgeon went for a walk with in the park. Still in her dark blue and black scrubs, her hair pulled back and off her neck. She looked tired, and felt it too. But as she walked the small sidewalk laid in the park. Vixin stopped a woman and a couple of children. Then another woman, whom didn't seem to fit into the picture with the others. This woman had a backpack on and was drinking a red liquid. Taking a deep breath, she smelled the sweet aroma of the blood in the bottle. "Blood, another vampire as come to join us. How wonderful.",Vixin moved closer to the woman whom was left standing by herself. Watching as she now placed the bottle back in her backpack. A smile plastered on her face, pushing aside the exhaustion. Small strands of her hair blew in the wind, finally before the woman she spoke up"Hello, may I speak with you in private? I know this situation may seem weird and off putting, but I asure you. It is life changing." Vixin smiled kindly, and turned to walk down an untraveled path that many humans never went down. Glancing back to the woman behind her to make sure she followed.


(Thought/Speech)

The female was just standing, looking around the park, observing and taking note. She so badly wanted to rip into a child or two, maybe even their parents as well. But, she held back. Arkati took a step forward and stopped as she scanned around a child had cut her self while playing on a toy, her knee was scraped and bleeding and her mother rushed to help. Arkati bit her inner check and clenched her fists and turned the other way, spotting a weak looking, hospital patient? No, this wasn't any hospital patient...this one had called to her to follow after her, so Arkati did. Slowly following she took light steps, her combat boots making little to no sound as she ignored the crying child with the bleeding knee, something about this "patient" was off. Another vampire? Arkati nodded to herself at the conclusion and stayed cautious but followed down the seemingly abandoned walkway. When the woman said life changing, what would she mean by that? Arkati was unsure but followed with a faint hope that maybe, this vampire wanted her in the clan. Maybe Arkati's immortal life would be changed today, right now. Or be ruined. Only time would tell and it seemed to be ticking slower than ever. "Yeah." She finally said even  after she was following the other.

Finally putting a comfortably safe distance between them and the park, Vixin turned around. Facing the female before her she gave a faint grin and spoke,"Forgive me for approaching you like that. I am still sort of new to all of this. Not many vampires come along to join. Most just pass through and leave. Anyways, I know you are a vampire. Since I can smell that the liquid in the bottle you had wasn't kool aid. I wish to know what you can offer the clan. If that is, you are here to be accepted. But what else would you be here for." She sligtly laughed and brushed the strands of hair from her face. Running on very little sleep and no coffee. Nor blood. She was in some kind of despreate need, but it would have to wait until this busniess was finished and she could get home. Vixin then turned back to her new found, hopefully, friend. She stood there waiting to hear what the female had to say. What could she offer? Vixin was curious to know as she waited.

Arkati stood to her full height of five feet, eight inches and looked to the other, not tense nor calm. She just stood and listened quietly and her eyes looked from the floor to the woman's eyes as she spoke of the 'liquid' she had in the bottle, she knew it was blood and Arkati's suspicions were correct, another vampire. Arkati nodded slowly and shrugged before speaking softly. "I'm old and experienced..loyal, dependable..I hold the ability of emotion tampering as most I've come across called it." She shrugged again and ran the heel of her boot on the ground and kept looking to the other, holding the straps of her bag with each hand. "Though, I have never been in a clan I know of the ways of one and the ranks and ways. But, living on my own for so long does have it's advantages. I have had to defend myself from clans, weak and strong, werewolves, many obstacles. Though I'm afraid the day until I meet the legendary Demetri are coming upon me quite fast and I'm not sure that if I do, I'll live to tell about it." She shrugged once more and looked to the floor and back to the other. "Pardon me asking but what is your name?" Arkati asked with a slight tilt to her head as the scent of more blood flooded into her nostrils and they flared once as she looked over her shoulder as if someone was following her and closed her eyes, turning her head back and opening them, smiling as her shoulders slumped.

Not being in high heels Vixin stood the same height as her newly found acquaintance. Watching with tired eyes. She proclaimed herself experienced and faithful. Dependable even. Then something slightly brought a bit of happiness to her,"is that so? I also have the ablity for emotion tappering. Most of the others just mind control, such things as that. Well, then there is me and the Prorex Rukio. We are the only others with the same power." She cleared her throat and gave an under breath sigh,"forgive me I am rabbling. I am rather tired. And my name is Vixin, Domina Vixin. I am the wife to the Dominus Demetri. The ruler of the clan. What is yours?" It wouldn't be long now until she accepted the female, she just wished for her name and they would both be one their way. For chatting would have to wait until after she got some sleep.

Arkati listened quietly and nodded, half smiling when the Domina said only herself, the Prorex and Arkati shared the same power. She shrugged and noticed the woman growing tired or not growing but she seemed to be on the brink of sleep and Arkati wouldn't keep her waiting any longer than she needed too. When she mentioned the name Demetri...Dominus Demetri, the legendary Demetri she was was speaking about only moments before? Arkati smirked and placed her hands from her backpack straps into her pockets. "I'm Arkati, I don't remember the rest of my name.." She half chuckled and nodded once. "It's a pleasure to meet you Domina Vixin." She bowed her head once and held out her hand. Arkati hoped this conversation would soon be over, though she wouldn't act pushy or seem impatient. She wanted...she needed more blood. Her lusty frenzy was soon to happen soon and she needed to calm her frayed nerves.
