| It had been hours ago since the plane touched the black runway. She flew first class, next to the window so she could over look the oceans as they passed by under the wings of the plane. Grabbing her bags and things she had exited the plane, walking down the way to exit the airport. It had been a long time since she had smelled the city air, even longer since she had seen this city. On her way in she had talked to a car service and had a car waiting on her to take her home, but first; she needed to make a pit stop.
Finally on her way, she saw it; the park where she first meet Demetri. It was her place of acceptance. She was sure by now there had to be many more that other had accepted here. As of the moment, it was just hers; for she was the first to be accepted here. Parking the car, Vixin got out and shut the door, pressing the lock key so the doors locked as she walked off. It was winter, granted the cold never really bothered her in the first place. Although to blend in she pulled her jacket around her frame tightly, fastening the buttons so the wind couldn't get in. Hair golden hair whipped in the icy fingers of the wind, making it seem as if it had a mind of its own. She thought long and hard on what she was to say her reasoning for leaving was should she be spotted by those blue eyes of his again. No words could explain her absences, other than she was sorry if she had made him worry.
Finding a bench Vixin sat down, crossing her legs and waiting. She didn't really know what she was waiting for actually? Was she hoping he would show? Was she wanting to see another of the clan? She did miss them but as for being taking back she wasn't so sure it would happen without a logical explanation. But she didn't have one, all she could do was hope.

| With the winter chill, the land was covered in snow. The cold never bothered the vampire lord, but still he bundled up as if he was a human. He tucked his hands into his favoite trench coat. His blue eyes watched the people moving about him. A young couple had their daughter all bundled up as well, and she was so excited for the snow. Christmas was right around the corner. They helped the little one build a snowman, with a cork pipe and coals for eyes and buttons. The end of the carrot was bitten off by the small mouth of the child, and the mother wrapped a scarf around the neck gently. The father found some branches and stuck them into the sides of the middle ball. The finishing touches to the snowman, was of course, the top hat. The father had lifted his child up into the air, so she could reach it all on her own. The sight was enough to make Demetri smile and also feel rather hurt. He was missing something in his life. Someone was no longer around and the thought of the missing person was enough to make him crack. His whole room was destroyed and changed because she left. As he walked through the snow, he smelled a scent which he knew far better than any other scent in the world. She was here.
He lifted his blue eyes and scanned over the people, looking for the source of the sweet scent. And there she was, sitting on a bench as the snow was gently falling from the sky on her head. He stared at her for a moment, trying to get his thoughts together. What was he going to say to the woman who destroyed him just months ago? Demetri looked at her up and down and all around. It was really Vixin, this was not some imaginary creature before him. It was her. As the snow began to build on his shoulders, he stood still. The humans seemed to be moving in quick jolts of movement, while he stayed still as a stone. So many emotions started to change and morph in his chest. He tried to formulate the words in his mind, trying to get exactly what he wanted to say out there. But the more he thought of it, the more he was drowning in his own thoughts. Finally his feet started to press forward and his eyes stayed on her form. She would know soon enough that he was here. His hands still tucked into his pockets, he made sure to show little emotion upon their meeting. He would be as statuesque as possible, cold and unforgiving. "Vixin, what brings you back? I thought I would never see you again, since you left without a single word."

| Vixin watched as the family played within the white blanket of snow. The flurries fell to her hair and melted upon impact. Her bright eyes watching the world around her, literally feeling whatever it was to throw at her. Although it was not the happy feelings that caught her attention. No, these feelings that had captured her were more of confusion mixed with others. Maybe a hint of resentment, she couldn't be sure until she found out where the source of the bundled feelings were. Then she spotted him, it was Demetri. The moment he moved towards her the emotion fell silent. Vixin's eyes looked over the one she had left so long ago, not even a note to tell him of her well being; no such thing of a call to assure him. Even though his feelings weren't showing it, his face read distant. Maybe he no longer loved her. Maybe he had found another to replace her. If he had, she would respect it and move on, if not; then she would prove to him she still loved him. "I came back for you. To talk to you. Explain why I had gone away, is I have no good reason.",her voice was sweet and firm. She stood to see him eye to eye. Not to challenge him, but so speak as if they were still one. As if she was still his, in hopes that she was. | |

| Finally the pair was face to face. Demetri hid his emotions from her, not allowing her to see the anger, the pain, and loss from her disappearance. Instead, he would take a much colder route. Why should he trust her once more? He cleared his throat and looked to her with a cold stare. "Vixin, you left our home, our son, our clan. But most importantly, you left me. I gave you everything you could ever want, above and beyond the natural binds of that a human could give you. I gave you a son. And you betrayed him just as much as you betrayed me. Do you know how hard it has been on Vincent with your disappearance? He will not eat and he has been worried sick. He thinks you are dead. He believes you abandoned us and were killed by a human. Ever since the Shifter leader was shot dead, that is what he believes. I could tell him nothing to change his mind. I could not convince him to hear me out clearly. In your absence, I have discovered love yet again. Arkati, who was once a Prorex, is now my Domina. Also, another female who has left me in the past has come back. If you want to rejoin my clan, then you will have to give me a better reason for your leaving than you have no answer. How can I even begin to trust you again? You are going to have to work hard to make me one hundred percent sure that you will be sticking around. I offer the people I cared about second chances. If you want that, you better get to explaining yourself and I mean, I want a damn real answer." Demetri spoke with a chilled tone. His blue hues glared at her, showing her the pain he was truly feeling now. His words stung like the chilled air and he knew it would. He honestly did not know if he would ever be able to trust her, but if he was giving a second chance to Charli, then the mother of his child deserved the same. | |

| Vixin could still sense that his feelings were tucked away from her, deep within his own being. She could chase them, but decided not to add to the fire anymore. She was already in a world of trouble, but what scared her most was the cold stare in his eyes. They had never looked at her that way, and right now what she needed from him was a bit of understanding; she knew she was asking to much for this moment. He was right about her, she had abandoned all. Her home. Her son. Him. And for what? Jealousy? It was apart of it, but not all. Vixin kept her mouth shut, but her eyes held firm; no tears would be shed this day. Or at least not at this moment. She would hold them back and away from escaping. Once he was done talking it was now her turn, to explain what was on her mind; and this time she would hold nothing back. All her thoughts would be out in the open. "I have no good reason Demetri, other than there were some things I needed to take care of for myself. I hadn't planned to be gone for so long, a day or two was what I had planned it would take. Forgive me that the medical field is my choice of work and that there are times when I can't tell you were I am going or what I am doing. You will have to trust me. Should I have to regain that trust then I shall. I'm immortal just as you are and will wait.",Vixin looked to the ground, breaking contact. Not because she was weaker than him, but because she loved him still. Loved their son, and clan. She never meant to hurt him. Never meant for him to feel this pain and coldness towards her. A small tear rolled and then froze at her jaw line from the cold air, looking back to him her eyes were bright, but something had been ripped from her. A bit of happiness was gone. "I hope you got the answer you were looking for, in not; I'm not sure what else to tell you. Other than you were constantly on my mind, that I still love you; and I am worry for all this pain and hurt. I could take it away but it wouldn't be real. Demetri, I am utterly sorry.",her voice was firm but a tinge of sadness followed. Vixins golden hair whipped as her blue eyes stared into his. All she needed was his touch a small something that he may still love her, for she wasn't going to chase his feelings. She was to exhausted. | |

| The snow continued to fall and Demetri could only stare at her, a blank expression upon his features. His body language held no clues to how he was feeling. He shut himself off completely from her. If she tried to change the emotions around them, to lighten the mood, it would not work on the Vampire King. He listened to her words, analyzing each one with a bit of thought forced into it. Demetri looked at her as she had stopped speaking. The emotions moved about his brain, rolling and crashing along the chasm of his mind. What do you say to the woman who betrayed you? What do you say to the mother of your child who decided her life was better elsewhere. "No reason..." Demetri mimicked her voice, copying the words that came from her soft lips, lips he once adored and loved to caress with his own. But no longer. "Vixin, I have too much to concern myself with that to believe that you have to go places you cannot tell me. You are not in the Special Forces of the military or a spy. You are a goddamned doctor. You do not need to go anywhere without telling me where you are going or when you would even be back! I would not care if it were only me, but you are the Domina of our people, and the mother to our son. You cannot just up and leave to your choosing! What would this clan be if I decided to do that, or every single member decided to do it too? Huh? You tell me. Because I guarantee, it would not be a good outcome!" Now he allowed his rage to flow from his body. It would not be easy to hide now, no point in it really. She needed to know that he had been hurt. "At first when you left, I thought you would be gone, maybe a week. But gone you stayed, at least a month and then more time passed. I realized that you were not coming back. I had to tell our son you were on vacation, because every single night he cried for you. I destroyed all the furniture within our room. It is ruined. The servants had to purchase new furniture and replace all the broken crap. Everything that you owned in our home, is gone. I believed you to have run off with another man, to leave town and never return. In your absence, I have found new love. Arkati is my Domina and I love her, for she will never forsaken me as you did. She was there for me, when I was battling my anger and my depression. Where were you?" A single tear rolled from the tear duct and down his cheek, freezing along his skin from the weather and his temperature. He stared at her, wishing he could break something now, but there was nothing which would make him feel better. "You can come back Vixin. You can come home. But Krato will be watching you like a hawk when I am not around. The servants will be watching you. And you will have to learn to live with it, until I can trust you again. Until that point, you will still be Domina, but you will not sleep in my bed. You can choose to sleep in Vincent's room or another around the castle. I have to go, my wife is waiting for me to come home. I promised her I would not be long..." He stared at her and slowly turned away, walking into the shadows of the night and heading for his home. | |
